Created under Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall, this limited 2026 release pairs American oak staves seasoned outdoors for five to seven years with bourbon matured for nine years. The result brings together caramel and vanilla sweetness, layered fruit, bright orange oils and warming baking spice.
Process & Profile
The story begins with the staves. Rather than using wood seasoned for months or approximately one year, this release uses American oak exposed to the elements for five to seven years before barrel construction. That prolonged weathering helps reduce harsh green tannins and changes how the oak contributes sweetness, spice and structure during maturation.
The bourbon then aged for nine years, a separate stage from the wood-seasoning period. Bottled at 100.4 proof (50.2% ABV), Super Seasoned Oak offers a distinctive exploration of barrel preparation for collectors and bourbon enthusiasts following Woodford Reserve's experimental Master's Collection.
