Matured in bourbon casks, with a portion downloaded into amontillado sherry casks to be finished, a first for Ardbeg. This transmits subtle notes of creamy toffee, flowering blackcurrants, and almonds, with flickers of damp moss and graphite. Its astonishing power surges on the palate, as woodsmoke merges with cinnamon spice, linseed oil, and eucalyptus.
