Octomore 9.3 Dialogos

Octomore 9.3 Dialogos is peated at 133ppm. Just 52 tonnes of precious Islay barley were malted to produce this single farm Octomore 09.3 edition. Raised in Irene’s Field on Octomore Farm in 2011, this uber-provenance single malt was later distilled and filled into 134 casks. Predominantly second-fill, the gentler influence of the wood allows more of the locally grown barley flavours to cut through the legendary peat smoke.
While looking for the hard-to-find Octomore 9 series, I discovered Sip Whiskey online. I was actually able to talk to a real person there, who then quickly confirmed they had that whisky, and others as well. I couldn’t order it directly from that person, so I ordered the whiskey using their easy form online. I was able to track the order, with automatic updates, and it arrived on time. Bruichladdich’s Octomore 9.3 is delicious. For those that like smokey Scotch, this is the pinnacle. October is the most heavily peated single malts made, but, because it’s also cask strength, it has a very mild smokiness on the nose! Most of the phenolics remain dissolved in solution - thus the flavors come from the palate, in your mouth! You have to taste it to believe it. There isn’t anything like it. I’ve tried about 10 different releases of Octomore over the years. Each release is a bit different. This one has a rich texture with a strong earthy smokiness accompanied by notes of burnt orange peel, spicy cinnamon, malt, mint, and a fantastic trace of vanilla on the finish.
