Founded in 1973, Mount Veeder Winery was born from a spirit of adventure and a pioneering belief in mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. Long before the Mount Veeder AVA was established, founders Michael and Arlene Bernstein planted Bordeaux varieties high in the Mayacamas-defying convention and cultivating vines in rugged, high-elevation terrain. Their inaugural vintage was the first to carry the Mount Veeder name, and in 1977, the winery made history with California's first five-varietal Bordeaux blend. Today, Mount Veeder Winery continues that legacy with wines of depth, structure, and mountain character. Crafted by hand, rooted in heritage, and shaped by the wild beauty of the mountain itself, the wines from Mount Veeder Winery are, in a word, captivating.
