Foursquare 2005 Cask Strength Rum

The 2005 expression is very good but not quite as good as the 2007, although very close. In comparison it lack some richness, depth and complexity. That said, it was still very good! I mostly drink Bourbon these days and was so impressed with the 2007 that I decided to try the 2005. Foursquare really did this series right. Looking forward to trying the 2008!

I purchased this 2005 for my own Christmas present and I just had my first taste and it is so much better than I thought it would be, This is truly a Rum you never want to adulterate when any mixer other than a possible splash of water, which, by the way, it really doesn't require as it has a smoothness that belies its' 59% ABV. Complexity on the pallet with hints of butterscotch, banana, brown sugar, to mention a few, along with the bourbon and oak char. It has a fruity nose that leaves you wanting to lick the glass clean. This is a winner on all counts including a very approachable price point. GO FOR IT
