Clase Azul Día de Muertos Trascender 2026 Limited Edition Añejo Tequila marks a new chapter in Clase Azul's annual Day of the Dead releases. Following the conclusion of the Nuestros Recuerdos collection (2021–2025), Trascender introduces a standalone creation inspired by the transformation of life, the enduring power of memory, and the soul's journey toward the Sun.
Curated by Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, this expression blends two añejo tequilas aged for more than 30 months. The first is finished in casks previously used for Champagne, contributing buttery aromas reminiscent of toasted walnuts and freshly baked bread. The second is aged in American whiskey casks, adding depth and toasted oak character.
The result is a full-bodied tequila with a silky texture, balancing ripe orchard fruit, agave nectar, cacao, toasted walnut, and delicate spice. Bottled at 80 proof, Trascender is presented in a hand-painted ceramic decanter inspired by Mexican Día de Muertos traditions.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Pear compote, ripe apple, peach, honey, sourdough bread, and toasted oak.
Palate: Silky and rounded with ripe pear, agave nectar, cacao nibs, toasted walnut, and subtle acidity.
Finish: Long and warm with delicate spice, lingering oak, and a refreshing touch of acidity.
What Makes It Special
New 2026 release: Trascender begins a new series of individual Día de Muertos creations following the five-year Nuestros Recuerdos collection.
Two añejo blend: Combines two tequilas aged for more than 30 months, including one finished in Champagne casks and another aged in American whiskey casks.
Champagne cask influence: Former Champagne casks contribute distinctive buttery, toasted walnut, and freshly baked bread aromas.
Limited production: Only 10,000 one-liter ceramic decanters are produced, alongside 290 larger 1.75L decanters.
Hand-painted decanter: Features a deep blue-to-magenta glaze inspired by the mano de león flower, intricate floral artwork, tiny skulls, and symbolic droplets.
24-karat gold detailing: Hand-painted gold brushstrokes ascend toward the Sun, while two marigolds represent the soul's transformation from the physical to the spiritual realm.
The decanter's floral elements evoke the petal-covered paths traditionally associated with guiding returning souls during Día de Muertos, making this edition both a collectible tequila and a tribute to Mexican cultural heritage.
