Derrumbes Guerrero is crafted by maestro vinatero Israel Ríos Bucio in Coyuca de Catalán, Guerrero, using wild maguey Penca Ancha (Agave cupreata). The agave is cooked in an underground pit oven, shredded with a mechanical mill, fermented in open-air plastic barrels, and double distilled in a unique still—featuring a hollowed-out higuera blanca tree trunk above a copper pot.
Derrumbes Mezcal showcases the diversity of Mexico’s mezcal traditions, bottling expressions from Oaxaca, Michoacán, Guerrero, and more. Each release highlights different agave species and regional production methods, often featuring small producers rarely found outside their local communities.
