Our High Rye Straight Bourbon Whiskey made with imported German rye pays tribute to an immigrant maker: Christian Heigold. Strong and bold, this offering honors Christian, a German stonecutter who settled in Louisville prior to 1850. Taken by the hope of this new land, he carved symbols of his patriotism on the facade of his now landmark home. Unique malted rye mash that offers initial butterscotch and toasted malt tones, leading to a burst of refreshing citrus notes before finishing with a comforting pepper spice.Rabbit Hole Heigold is made with 70% corn, 25% malted rye, and 5% malted barley, aged for just under four years in toasted and charred new oak barrels, and bottled at 47.5% ABV. Named for Christian Heigold, a German who immigrated to Louisville in 1850. A stonecutter by trade, Heigold built a mansion in The Point neighborhood of the city, decorating it with patriotic carvings and epigrams, including a bust of President James Buchanan.

Perfect gift

I bought this for my son who enjoys good sipping whiskey. He walked in the door Christmas Day with a half empty bottle of Rabbit Hole Heigold. He was surprised to see I had bought a bottle of the exact same whiskey for him. The fact that there were so many different whiskeys available that I could have purchased. I bought Rabbit Hole Heigold. I did not know it was the whiskey of choice for him. We all had a good laugh and a good Christmas Day.

Love this Smooth Whiskey

Really do love this Whiskey it is very smooth. Just wish it was available locally so one did not have to purchase through an online retailer. I always purchase two at a time since this particular version of Rabbit Hole seems to be rare for some reason.

THIS IS AWESOME PERIOD

I purchased this off a recommendation and it has not disappointed. it is very smooth, deep in flavor, and could become habit forming :) I hope I can find this at a local store so I do not have to wait a week for delivery.

Rabbit Hole Bourbon and Rye

We fell in love with Rabbit Hole bourbon and rye on a recent tour in Louisville, KY. They also have a wonderful gin with a hint of color because it's aged in bourbon barrels. Of all the bourbons we tried (Woodford Reserve, Bulleit and more), Rabbit Hole was our favorite.
