Jack Daniel’s 150th Anniversary Tennessee Whiskey is a commemorative limited-edition release honoring a century and a half of legendary whiskey-making at America’s oldest registered distillery. Crafted in 2016 to mark the milestone, this special expression celebrates the heritage, character, and craftsmanship that have defined Jack Daniel’s since 1866.
Distilled in Lynchburg, Tennessee, this whiskey was produced using a unique mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye, consistent with the classic Old No. 7 recipe. However, the 150th Anniversary Edition was matured in specially crafted, extra-toasted barrels and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), delivering a richer and bolder profile than the standard lineup.
On the nose, it opens with bold aromas of sweet oak, toasted vanilla, banana bread, and soft spice. The palate follows with layers of caramel, roasted nuts, baked apple, and charred wood, balanced by the signature smoothness of charcoal mellowing. The higher proof provides added warmth and complexity, finishing long with notes of brown sugar, leather, and toasted grain.
This release is not only a flavorful evolution of Jack Daniel’s iconic style, but a collector’s piece that pays homage to the distillery’s legacy. The bottle itself is embossed with commemorative markings and housed in premium packaging, making it a standout for enthusiasts and history lovers alike.
