Glenmorangie 26 Year Old Truffle Oak Reserve

Singularly deep and complex, this rare single malt is long finished in truffle oak casks crafted from the oak trees of Germany’s Black Forest. Their exceptionally porous wood, seldom used at Glenmorangie, brings a distinctive nuttiness to this spirit. Years ago, award winning Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden became inspired by the natural balance between these trees and the black truffles which nestle in their roots. Intrigued to explore their influence on Glenmorangie’s classic, fruity style, he filled a handful of casks with the signature single malt. Aged 10 years in Bourbon casks and 16 years in truffle oak casks from Germany’s Black Forest this creation deliciously balances Glenmorangie’s tropical fruit notes with nutty, truffled depths. To express its individuality each bottle is hand numbered and hand signed by the award winning Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden.

A peppery mouthfeel brings peach, passionfruit, melon and smoked pears. Milk chocolate follows on, truffle notes and pecan nuts. The finish is long, sweet and nutty, with a suggestion of cinnamon.
