Schram, the 2013 vintage of this bottling was renamed J. Schram Blancs to denote this wines Chardonnay-based core. the inception of Schramsbergs efforts in 1965, the winery has sought to achieve the greatest elegance and individuality possible in our sparkling wines. J. Schram Blancs epitomizes Schramsbergs philosophy to create a wine in which no effort has been spared and no care has been omitted. Representing only 2-3% of the winerys annual production, the Chardonnay-focused J. Schram Blancs blend is assembled the very best base wine lots of the approximately 300 produced each year. This special bottling is dedicated to Schramsbergs founder, Jacob Schram, and has been a great success since its premier vintage was released in 1992.\n\nCluster samples from over 115 cool-climate vineyard sources are pulled several times before the optimal pick date for each block is selected. Complexity within the wine is gained through both oak barrel and stainless-steel tank fermentation. Additional layers are provided through small lots that undergo malolactic fermentation in barrel, enriching aromas and infusing creaminess the palate. Our J. Schram Blancs is aged for eight years the yeast in Schramsbergs historic Diamond Mountain caves; each bottle is then riddled by hand and finished with an exceptional brut dosage.\n\nJ. Schram Blancs is quite appealing on its own as an apéritif or enjoyed with fresh shellfish, caviar on toast point, smoked salmon, sharp cheeses, seafood brochettes, cedar-planked lobster, mesquite-grilled quail, or Serrano ham and porcini risotto.","brand":"Schramsberg Vineyards","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":63074784674163,"sku":"JSCHRAMBLANC","price":144.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0069\/8141\/9069\/files\/8.25.__97.png?v=1783637490"},{"product_id":"schramsberg-blanc-de-blancs","title":"Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs","description":"Blanc de Blancs (white from whites), made from Chardonnay, is the counterpart to the Blanc de Noirs (white from blacks), made from Pinot Noir. Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was Americas first commercially produced Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs gained international recognition in 1972 when then President Nixon served the wine the historic Toast to Peace in Beijing, China.\n\nThe Schramsberg style of Blanc de Blancs is dry and crisp. Small lots of barrel fermented wines, some of which complete malolactic fermentation, are added to stainless-steel fermented wines to create added complexity in the blended base wine. After undergoing a second fermentation in bottle, the wine then ages on its yeast lees for about two years prior to disgorgement. With its vibrant, fruitful and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.\n\nWhile this wine can be enjoyed by itself as an apéritif, it is also perfect with fresh oysters and other shellfish, crab cakes, ceviche and grilled sea bass. It is also delicious with lemon chicken and Thai curries. Serve with aged Gouda and other hard cheeses, or as a counterpoint to soft triple creams.\n\nThe growing season was marked by drought, warm temperatures, and both an early and accelerated harvest. Despite the challenges, the lower yields resulted in concentrated fruit with expressive flavors. Sonomas fruit showcased refined aromatics and crisp balance and Carneros fruit produced structured wines with depth. Small lots from Mendocino and Marin added intensity with bright citrus notes. This North Coast vintage balances ripeness with freshness, delivering sparkling wines of great precision, depth, and character.","brand":"Schramsberg Vineyards","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":63074784706931,"sku":"Schramsberg-BlancdeBlanc","price":37.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0069\/8141\/9069\/files\/8.25.__98.png?v=1783637530"},{"product_id":"schramsberg-mirabelle-brut-rose","title":"Schramsberg Mirabelle Brut Rosé","description":"The Mirabelle Brut Rosé is a specially crafted blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Schramsberg's select cool-climate vineyards in Carneros, Anderson Valley, and the Sonoma and Marin coastal areas of Northern California.
