Stagg Barrel Select “Stagg To The Bone” 128.7 Proof - 64.35% Nose - Berry sweetness, rich caramel, and a hit of coco powder. Palate - An amazing balance of sweet and dark notes. An explosion of cherry sweetness up front that transitions into a strong oak and tobacco on the mid palate. An intense mouth feel that lets you know it’s there. Finish - This is where this pour shines, long intense finish that lingers for a good amount of time. A bit drying after the 4th or 5th sip but nothing too negative. Leaves you wanting to dive back in after you exit stage left. Overall - A really good pick that provides different layers than most Stagg/Stagg Jr batches. IMO you could have called this Buffalo Trace Mash Bill 1 - Cigar Blend Experimental and I wouldn’t call you a liar but depending on the price I would call you a thief. Score: 8.5/10
